What is NuFocus?

NuFocus is a simple focus system that connects your phone with the real world. With the NuFocus Keycard you can instantly block or unblock distracting apps just by tapping your phone. It adds a small intentional step that helps you stay present focus on what matters and take control of your screen time.

How does the NuFocus Keycard work?

The NuFocus Keycard is a physical card required to end your focus sessions. When you start a session, your selected apps are blocked. To stop focusing, you must hold the NuFocus Keycard near the top back of your iPhone. This physical integration prevents impulsive phone use.

Is there a monthly subscription?

No! NuFocus is a one-time purchase. You get the NuFocus Keycard and lifetime access to the app features without any recurring fees.

Which devices are supported?

NuFocus requires an iPhone 7 or later running iOS 16.0 or later. iPad is not supported as NuFocus is designed for iPhone users with NuFocus Keycards, which are central to the app experience.

How does the app blocking work?

NuFocus uses Apple's Family Controls and Screen Time APIs to enable voluntary, self-imposed app and website restrictions during user-initiated focus sessions. When the session ends, the restrictions are removed immediately.

Is my privacy protected?

Yes. All restriction logic runs locally on your device. NuFocus does not collect, transmit, or store detailed app usage data, browsing history, or personal activity information. It is not a parental control or surveillance tool.

Can I customize which apps are blocked?

Absolutely. You have full control over your blocklists and can explicitly select which apps or app categories to restrict during your sessions.

What if I lose my NuFocus Keycard or have an emergency?

In case of an emergency or if the physical card is lost, you can use emergency exits to unblock the apps. Upon request, emergency exits shall be provided to the user.
