Data Retention and Deletion Policy

This policy explains how NuFocus retains data and what happens when a user deletes an account.

1) Retention principles

NuFocus keeps data only as long as needed to:

  • Operate core features
  • Maintain reliability and security
  • Meet legal obligations

2) Data categories and retention approach

Account/profile data:

  • Retained while account is active
  • Deleted after account deletion request, except where legal/security retention is required

Focus session and stats data:

  • Retained while account is active for history, streaks, and leaderboard features
  • Deleted with account deletion, subject to legal/security exceptions

Social graph data (friends/requests):

  • Retained while account is active
  • Removed as part of account deletion flow

Push token data:

  • Updated over time
  • Removed when invalid or when account is deleted

NFC card data:

  • Retained while card is linked
  • Cleared when removed or account is deleted

Child Mode and emergency sync data:

  • Retained as needed for sync integrity and recovery behavior
  • Removed according to account lifecycle and operational requirements

Local device cache/offline queue:

  • Stored on device for reliability
  • Cleared by app reset, account removal, sync completion, or app deletion

3) Account deletion behavior

NuFocus supports in-app account deletion.

When account deletion succeeds, NuFocus removes associated user data from service data stores, subject to legal and security exceptions.

4) Exceptions

Certain records may be retained longer when required by:

  • Law or legal process
  • Fraud/security investigation
  • Abuse prevention and service integrity needs
