This Privacy Policy explains what information NuFocus collects, how we use it, and what choices you have.

1) Who we are
NuFocus is operated by [Legal Company Name] (“NuFocus”, “we”, “us”, “our”).
2) Quick summary
We collect only the information needed to run NuFocus features such as account login, focus-session syncing, social/friends functionality, push notifications, and optional NFC/Child Mode features.
You can request account deletion from inside the app.
3) Information we collect
A. Account and profile information
When you sign in with Apple or Google, we receive:
- Account identifier (user ID)
- Email address (if provided by your sign-in provider)
- Display name
- Profile photo URL
- Sign-in provider type
If you set or change profile information in NuFocus, we may store:
- Username
- Display name
- Profile photo
B. Focus and schedule activity data
To provide stats, streaks, and leaderboards, we collect session-related data such as:
- Session ID, mode ID
- Session start/end time
- Focus duration
- Exit method (for example: manual, scheduled, NFC, emergency)
- Break settings and usage
- Schedule IDs (if session is schedule-driven)
- Local date used for streak/daily aggregation
C. Social and leaderboard data
If you use social features, we process:
- Friend requests and friend connections
- Public profile fields shown to other users (for example: username, display name, profile photo)
- Aggregated focus totals and streak data used in leaderboards
D. Notification data
If notifications are enabled, we process:
- Push token (FCM/APNs mapping)
- Notification preference categories
Marketing/news notifications are optional.
E. Optional NFC card data
If you register a NuFocus NFC card, we process data such as:
- Card UID/identifier
- Card serial
- Registration/removal timestamps
F. Child Mode and emergency features
If you enable Child Mode or use emergency features, we process:
- Child Mode sync events (device ID, event sequence, timestamps, mode state)
- Child Mode recovery code snapshots (4-digit code) for sync/recovery workflows
- Emergency-exit usage and offline sync events
G. Technical and service data
We and our service providers may process technical metadata needed to run and secure the service, such as:
- Basic request/server logs
- Error and reliability diagnostics
- Device/app environment signals needed for service operation
H. Data stored locally on your device
NuFocus also stores data locally (for example, settings, cached sync queues, and mode configuration) to improve reliability and offline behavior.
Some Screen Time control data is handled locally via Apple frameworks and app-group storage.
4) How we use information
We use information to:
- Authenticate accounts and keep you signed in
- Run focus sessions, schedules, streaks, and stats
- Provide social features (friends and leaderboards)
- Deliver requested notifications
- Operate optional NFC and Child Mode capabilities
- Prevent abuse, secure accounts, and troubleshoot issues
- Comply with legal obligations
5) Legal basis (where applicable)
Depending on your region, we process data based on:
- Contract necessity (to provide NuFocus features)
- Legitimate interests (security, abuse prevention, service reliability)
- Consent (where required, including certain notifications)

6) How information is shared
We do not sell personal information.
We share information only as needed with:
- Service providers that host or process data for NuFocus (for example authentication, storage, push delivery, backend hosting)
- Other NuFocus users, but only for social/profile fields intended to be visible in the app
- Authorities or legal counterparties when required by law
7) Data retention
We keep data for as long as needed to provide the service and maintain security/reliability, unless a longer period is required by law.
Typical retention behavior:
- Account/profile/session/social data: retained until account deletion or legitimate operational/legal need
- Local cached/offline sync data: retained on device until synced, cleared, or app/account reset
When you delete your account, we delete associated server-side user data, subject to legal and security exceptions.
8) Your choices and rights
You can:
- Access/update profile data in app settings
- Disable notification categories in app settings
- Remove optional NFC card link
- Delete your account from within the app
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to request access, correction, deletion, portability, or objection/restriction. Contact us to exercise these rights.
9) Children
NuFocus is not intended for unsupervised use by young children.
If a parent/guardian uses NuFocus features (including Child Mode) on a child device, the parent/guardian is responsible for required consent and lawful use.
10) Security
We use reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, but no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure.
11) International transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, subject to applicable safeguards required by law.
12) Changes to this policy
We may update this Privacy Policy. When we do, we will update the “Effective date” and, when required, provide notice in-app or on our website.
